HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
The
Sta. Ana Central Elementary School (SACES) site was surveyed on March
19, 1925 and resurveyed in 1935 with reserved school site of 49,894 sq.
m. Based on the School Site Card duly signed by Superintendent Albert
Mayes, only 40,655 sq. m. was purchased on May 15, 1940 which was then
divided by four schools namely: Sta. Ana Central
Elementary School, Manuel A. Roxas Elementary School, Rizal Elementary
School and Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School. Out of 40, 655 sq. m.,
SACES is occupying 14, 023 sq. m. only.
LOCATION
Sta.
Ana Central Elementary School, named after the Patron Saint, Sta. Ana,
is situated in a community of busy streets, commercial and residential
buildings, government and private offices, along Ramon Magsaysay Avenue,
Davao City.
COMMUNITY SITUATION
The
main dialect in the community is Cebuano which is spoken by
approximately 75% of the total population. The other dialects are
Ilonggo, Pangasinense, Ilocano, Bikolano, Tagalog and Kapangpangan. Approximately 75% of the clientele are Roman Catholics while the rest are Islam, Aglipayans, Protestants,
Seventh Day Adventists, and Iglesia ni Kristo. Most of the populace
belongs to below average to above average socio-economic status.
